I am so excited to be part of a new website called Patreon.  Patreon is a place where content creators come together to share their creations with people who help to support their work.

My patrons have enjoyed 2 photo series that I have created just for them.

The first series was created during a spontaneous road trip northward from Chevy Chase. I ended up at Seneca Landing. As I traveled along the tow path that lead to Harpers Ferry, I decided to take the path into the forest that lead away from the tow path. I was surprised to come across the shell of an abandoned red stone mill. As I ventured into the structure that nature had begun to reclaim, I felt the presence of those who had spent their days toiling in this place.  The power of creating was very strong in this place.

The second  series was just shared this weekend. I explored the Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens. The lotus and lilies were in full bloom just in time for their Lotus and Water Lily Festival July 13, 2013. As I wandered the gardens, I saw so many passionate artists searching for the perfect lotus picture. I was struck with the thought of how passion can lead us to either an all consuming striving to capturing the perfect moment … or it can lead us to that still place of awareness that leads to our Creator.
