Many years ago, I read Julia Cameron’s book The Artists Way. The first thing Julia encourages her readers to do are something she calls Morning pages. It’s a daily journaling technique where you are encouraged to stream of conscious write every morning. It doesn’t matter what you write as much as that you write three pages every day. 

I must admit that I have over the years, tried to develop the habit. I know when I am successful, my days are more creative and more focused. It can be a challenge. Some days I find myself writing the most mundane stuff. Others I can go deep into topics and ideas that have me wanting to write for much more than 3 pages. 

One aspect that never fails me when I journal daily is the flood of ideas and inspiration that fill me.
